The Woman

& the Beast

Introduction

Next is a historical and political study concerning the prophetic symbolism of the woman and the beast found in scripture. In correlation with the Grape Harvest Prophecy, this study introduces the entities and what role they play in the last day's harvest.

Introduction to the Woman

In Revelation, John is shown a vision of an unfaithful woman.

Revelation 17:3-5, 7, 18 KJV - "3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."

The name upon her forehead includes, "BABYLON THE GREAT". The word Babylon comes from the same root as Babel (Strong's H894). It means confusion and denotes confusion by mixing. The woman will be known as an unfaithful harlot who will greatly create confusion by her spiritual fornication with the beast(s).

Leviticus 18:23 KJV - "Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion."

Isaiah 24:10 KJV - "The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in." (Read in context)

The woman Babylon is identified as a great city that reigns over the kings of the earth.

Revelation 17:7, 18 KJV - "7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. ... 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth."

The "great city" in John's revelation is also identified as Jerusalem.

Revelation 11:8 KJV - "And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified."

Revelation 21:10 KJV - "And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,"

Woman Babylon and Jerusalem are identified as the city that kills the prophets.

Revelation 17:6 KJV - "And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration."

Revelation 18:21, 24 KJV - "21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. ... 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth."

Matthew 23:30-32 KJV - "30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. 32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers."

Luke 13:33-34 KJV - "33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. 34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!" (See also Matthew 23:35-37)

Scripture identifies Israel as a harlot.

Hosea 4:15 KJV - "Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD liveth."

Isaiah 1:21 KJV - "How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers."

Jeremiah 3:1-3 KJV - "1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD. 2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness. 3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed."

Jeremiah 3:8 KJV - "And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also." (see also Jeremiah 3:6)

Ezekiel 16:2, 15-16, 35-36 KJV - "2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, ... 15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. 16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.... 35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD: 36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;" (See all of Ezekiel 16)

With a metaphorical cup of wine, woman Babylon, who is unfaithful Israel, seductively puts herself before the kings and kingdoms and joins herself to them.

Jeremiah 51:7 KJV - "Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad."

Revelation 14:8 KJV - "And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."

Revelation 17:2 KJV - "With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication."

Revelation 18:1-3 KJV - "1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies." (See also Revelation 18:9, 19:2)

1 Corinthians 6:16 KJV - "What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh."

The word "fornication" seen in the scriptures of Revelation figuratively means to practice idolatry. (G4202 & G4203).  Israel will lose herself and become one with the enemy.

Israel will fellowship with and make covenants with nations that work iniquity and worship a false god. Though Israel will believe she is at peace with those she comingles with, the nations will turn against her.

Ezekiel 16:37-41 KJV - "37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. 38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy. 39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare. 40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords. 41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more." (See all of Ezekiel 16)

Isaiah 28:15, 18 KJV - "15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: ... 18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it."

Micah 1:5, 7 KJV - "5 For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. ... 7 And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot."

Jeremiah 8:17, 19 KJV - "17 For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD. ... 19 Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?"

James 1:15 KJV - "Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."

Jerusalem will no longer be a city of national Israel but a reigning city of a revived Near East empire. (See the Beast below).

Introduction to Dragon Beast of Beasts

In Revelation, John saw a beast with seven heads and ten horns. The dragon is identified as Satan, the Devil. Once he is cast into the earth, he raises up another beast.

Revelation 12:3, 9 KJV - "3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. ... 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (See also Revelation 20:2)

Revelation 13:1-2 KJV - "1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."

Revelation 17:3 KJV - "So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns."

When the beast rises from the sea, the woman Israel will put herself into its control.

The dragon, or the dragon empowered beast is depicted as having multiple heads. Each head is identified as a mountain.

Revelation 12:3 KJV - "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads."

Revelation 13:1 KJV - "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."

Revelation 17:3, 7 KJV - "3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. ... 7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns."

Revelation 17:9 KJV - "The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth."

Mountains are kingdoms; also known as empires. This can be seen in context of Revelation 17, as well as, in Daniel 2:35, 44. Verse 35 gives the symbol and verse 44 gives the interpretation.

Daniel 2:35, 44 KJV - "35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. ... 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever."

*Political History Fact: Every empire has a supreme leader. They are the crowned image and embodiment of the empire. When the embodiment of an empire falls without a successor, so does the empire.

In Revelation 12:3, every head/kingdom is crowned. According to Revelation 17:10, when one kingdom falls, another rises. An eighth is prophesied to rise.

Revelation 12:3 KJV - "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads."

Revelation 17:9-10 KJV - "9 The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. ... 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space."

Revelation 13:3 KJV - "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast."

Revelation 3:11-12 KJV - "11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed."

Revelation 17:11 KJV - "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition."

Each one of the seven heads/kingdoms, are empires that have or will reign over the people of Israel. Revelation 17:10 prophesied in it's time that five kings have fallen and one was currently reigning.

Political History Fact: The five fallen Kingdoms that ruled over Israel included the Egyptian Empire, Assyrian Empire, Babylonian Empire, Medo-Persian Empire, and Macedonian Empire. The sixth that was currently spoken of in Revelation 17:10 was the Roman Empire. When the Roman Empire was in the process of dissolving, the Ottoman Empire was born. The Ottoman Empire ruled from A.D. 1300-1922, made Istanbul (of Turkey) its capital, and specifically ruled Jerusalem from A.D. 1516-1917. The Ottoman Empire was the last ruling Empire over Israel and was the seventh head of the beast.

Revelation 17:11 declares that the eighth head is of one of the seven heads. Revelation 3:12 declares the eighth to be a revival specifically of the previous empire: the "first beast before him". The head appears as a lamb with two horns; shown in Revelation 3:11. The leader of the empire will not only be the embodiment of the empire, but will be a man indwelt of Satan (speaking as a dragon) and portray himself as an innocent lamb. He will be the man of sin, the son of perdition: declaring himself to be God. He will give life to the Ottoman Empire and appoint ten kings.

Political History Fact: The Ottoman Empire was governed according to the caliphate; which is an Islamic state lead by an Islamic ruler (Caliph). The highest leader of the empire was the Sultan. The Persian title they held was "Padishah", meaning "master king", "lord of kings" and "king of kings". While the Caliph was the supreme in hierarchy, he gives other leaders control as kings.

Revelation and Daniel depict the kingdom, the eighth head, as having ten horns that represent ten kings. The new kings give power and strength to the empire.

Revelation 17:3 KJV - "So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns."

Revelation 12:3 KJV - "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads."

Revelation 17:11-13 KJV - "11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast."

Daniel 7:24 KJV - "And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings."

The eighth head (empire) has as a little horn (king), depicted in Daniel, which rises to power after the ten.

Revelation 17:11 KJV - "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition."

Daniel 7:8 KJV - "I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things."

Daniel 7:24 KJV - "And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings."

In Daniel 7:24, the word subdue (Strong's H8214) means to abase and humble. Three kings will submit to the power of the new king.

The following is an overview of the characteristics, intentions, and actions of the empires supreme leader:

Revelation 17:8 KJV - "The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is."

Revelation 9:1-2, 11 KJV - "1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. ... 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon."

Luke 10:18 KJV - "And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."

Revelation 12:12 KJV - "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time."

Revelation 13:1 KJV - "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."

Revelation 17:11 KJV - "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition."

2 Thessalonians 2:3 -4KJV - "3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

Daniel 11:36-37 KJV - "36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. 37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all."

Revelation 13:11 KJV - "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon."

2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV - "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

Daniel 8:9 KJV - "And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land."

Revelation 13:12 KJV - "And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed."

Daniel 7:8 KJV - "I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things."

Daniel 7:20 KJV - "And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows."

Revelation 13:6 KJV - "And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven."

Revelation 13:2 KJV - "And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."

Daniel 7:25 KJV - "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

Revelation 17:10 KJV - "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space."

Daniel 7:24 KJV - "And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings."

Daniel 11:38 KJV - "But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things."

Daniel 11:39 KJV - "Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain."

Revelation 13:13-15 KJV - "13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."

Religion Fact: In Islamic eschatology, the coming spiritual and political leader will be the last Imam; meaning a successor through the lineage of their prophet Muhammad. The person will be known as the Mahdi, meaning rightly guided one. He is believed to be the redeemer of Islam and will return with Isa (Romanized Arabic for Jesus); with the objective to bring their peace to the world.

The Reigning Kingdom of the Beast

The Beast is given power over multitudes and nations. The kings of the empire will hate Israel and will tread Israel down for forty two months; which is three and a half years according to the Hebrew calendar.

Revelation 17:15 KJV - "And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

Revelation 13:7 KJV - "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."

Revelation 13:4-5 KJV - "4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months."

Luke 21:24 KJV - "And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."

Revelation 11:2 KJV - "But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months."

Isaiah 63:18 KJV - "The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary."

Revelation 17:16 KJV - "And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire."

Daniel 7:19, 23 KJV - "19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; … 23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces."

Revelation 13:12 KJV - "And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed."

Revelation 13:8 KJV - "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

The empire will require proof of allegiance from each person in order to buy or sell anything.

Revelation 13:16 KJV - "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

Revelation 13:18 KJV -  "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."

In Revelation 13:16, the word "mark" (Strong's G5480) means, "a scratch or etching, i.e. stamp (as a badge of servitude), or sculptured figure (statue)". Someone who takes the name or number of his name submits themselves to their authority and god by oath.

Language and cultural fact: Both Greek and Arabic numbers for "six hundred threescore and six" also appear as letters in the Islamic Shahada (Profession of faith) headbands.

God warns that those who worship the beast will drink his wrath wine.

Revelation 14:9-10 KJV - "9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:"

The kings of the revived empire will threaten to kill anyone who does not worship their god. A remnant of Israel, even a remnant of Judah, will flee and the armies of the empire, controlled by Satan, will attempt to overcome the remnant: yet they will not succeed and will turn to make war with the saints (Recall threshing of the wheat).

Revelation 13:15 KJV -  “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."

Revelation 12:13-17 KJV - "13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Revelation 13:10 KJV - "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."
